Rain and showers Strong winds seiten=4 abk=focus
Monday
It will be a wet start to the morning over many parts of England and Wales. Plenty of cloud around and either showers or longer periods of rain. For Scotland and Ireland it is likely to start cloudy too, although the rain here tending to be more patchy. It is going to be windy in places as well, especially western Scotland, Ireland and parts of southern England, where gales could occur this afternoon. By this afternoon most of the rain is over eastern Scotland and northern England with heavy showers for much of central, southern and eastern England. Although still with some heavy showers we should find it turning bright6er over Ireland, western Scotland and Wales with the showers fading away. This brighter drier weather then moving through western England. Temperatures at 14C in northern Scotland, 19C in any sunshine later in southwest England.
Monday Night
Further rain to come across central and eastern Scotland tonight where some of it could be heavy at times. Elsewhere showers will tend to become more scattered, although there could still be some around. Most notable will be an area of showers or a longer period of rain affecting parts of central Ireland and Wales. Another area of showers could persist through the night in parts of southern and southeastern England. Staying windy in the south. Temperatures down to 8C under any clearer skies, but more typically 9 to 11C.
Tuesday
Low pressure drifts into the North Sea on Tuesday. There will be some showers again over England and Wales, but we should find that these are far more scattered than on Monday, and it should be dry for many of us with some good sunny spells in the afternoon. Windy again in the south. Staying cloudy and damp for central, southern and eastern Scotland with the threat of a few heavier bursts of rain here. Some heavy showers in Northern Ireland too. Temperatures rising to a milder 19 or 20C in the sunshine over southern England, nearer 14C in the rain in eastern Scotland.
Wednesday
It's back to the rain on Wednesday for most of us. The rain mainly affecting the southern half of England and Wales, where some could be heavy at times, and it could be quite windy. The rain more patchy for northern England and Ireland, and this reaching southern Scotland too. The best of the sunshine for today is going to be in the far north of Scotland and through Shetland and Orkney. A cool day in the rain in the south at just 15 or 16C, but perhaps 17C in northern Scotland in that sunshine.
