Cool north, showers Drier south, some sunshine seiten=4 abk=focus

Saturday
A cloudy and damp start to the morning over much of Scotland. There will be periods of rain, and some of these could be heavy in the south and east. Feeling cold too in the strong wind. Patchy rain extends into northern England through the morning. For more southern parts of England and Wales the day will be cloudier with a few showers here and there. Scattered showers too for Ireland. Into this afternoon the winds should ease and the rain clear from Scotland, although there could be drizzle in the far northeast, and through northeast England. Sunshine breaking through more prolifically over Wales and southern England as well as Ireland as a ridge of high pressure builds in. Temperatures rising to 19C in southern England, but a cold 12C in eastern Scotland.

Saturday Night
Any rain over eastern parts of Scotland and northeast England should be fading away through this evening. Most places are then going to become dry with some clear spells. As the showers and rain fade and the clear skies arrive, winds will be falling light. This will allow temperatures to fall sharply and there is the threat of a ground frost in central Scotland. Here lows could be around 3 or 4Cm, but nearer 5C inland elsewhere and 8C on coasts.

Sunday
A cold start to the morning on Sunday but one that will be bringing lots of sunshine through most parts of England, Wales and Scotland. Not so fine for Ireland and western Scotland where cloud will be thickening, the wind increasing and outbreaks of light rain moving in from the west. This patchy rain makes further, slow eastwards progress during the afternoon. However, most of England, Wales and eastern Scotland will be staying dry, albeit with increasing cloud in the west. Highs at 22C in eastern England, 18C in the cloudier parts of Ireland.

Monday
There is the risk of some patchy rain over Wales on Monday morning, with further outbreaks of rain affecting Ireland and western Scotland too. Elsewhere the morning should be dry with sunny spells. Indications are that the sun breaks through the cloud as the afternoon progresses and some warm sunny spells will be affecting most parts of the country. Thicker cloud in the west of Scotland and Ireland where there is the threat of some rain at times. A breezy day with tops of 23 or even 24C over eastern England, nearer 19C in western Scotland.
