Thursday
Lots of cloud affecting much of the country today, although there will be some sunny spells through more southern parts of England. An area of rain will be affecting much of central and southern Scotland, northern England, Wales and Northern England this morning. The rain persisting over parts of northern England and the Midlands as well as northern Wales with some heft bursts of rain at times on westward facing hills. The rain turning more showers in Scotland this afternoon with the best of any sunshine to the far north. Highs around 16C in the far north of Scotland, nearer 20C in any sunshine over southeast England. A breezy day on western coasts of Wales, northern England and southern Scotland.

Thursday Night
A damp evening over East Anglia and parts of southeast England. For much of England and Wales it becomes drier with plenty of cloud, but a few outbreaks of rain over western coasts and northwest hills. More persistent rain across Scotland, some of it heavy at times through central and western areas. The more persistent rain spreads into Scotland, Ireland and northwest England with lighter, patchier rain over western Wales. Through the rest of England it will be cloudy and generally dry. rather breezy in places. Lows near 10 to 14C.

Friday
Plenty of cloud and outbreaks of rain through Friday. The most persistent of the rain across southern and central England as well as Wales this morning, this then turning showery into the afternoon with a few bright spells coming through inland. Further cloud and outbreaks of rain over Scotland, with heavy rain for western Scotland and western and Northern Ireland. Western coasts and hills tending to have fog shrouding the hills with mist on the coasts. Highs at 22C in any sunshine over central England, 16C in western Scotland.

Saturday
Low pressure drifts into the North Sea on Saturday. A west to northwest wind bringing showers southwards through all parts of the country. There could be some more persistent rain over central and eastern Scotland, that rain slipping into northeastern England too. Some of the showers could be heavy, with the focus for these towards the east. High pressure tending to build to the west, dampening off the showers here and bringing dry weather through much of Ireland and Wales as well as western Scotland and western England by the end of a day. Highs at 15 to 19C and feeling cold in the wind.
