Showers breaking out Heat set to return seiten=4 abk=focus

Tuesday
Feeling much fresher with some bright spells around England and Wales this morning. Showers are going to be developing and some of the showers could become heavy at times by mid morning, especially over Wales and southwest England. Much of the east should be dry. More persistent rain through Ireland and northern England, with rain and drizzle affecting the east of Scotland too. Western Scotland should be brighter with sunny spells. Through this afternoon heavy showers develop across much of central and western England, Wales and southern Scotland with the risk of a thunderstorm. A drier day in southeast England and East Anglia. Rain should clear northern Scotland, with the west of the country always fairing best of all. Highs at 26C in northeast England, but cooler weather arrives to the south with 19 to 22C for many and 21C in northern Scotland.

Tuesday Night
Showers will be fading away during the course of the evening with many places then turning drier, although feeling rather humid in the east. Thicker cloud will be moving through Ireland pushing rain eastwards and that rain could become heavy at times. The rain will be reaching Northern Ireland, Wales and southwest England by the morning, some of it turning heavy at times. For most of northern and eastern Britain it should stay dry. A muggy night at 12 or 13C for many.

Wednesday
Rather cloudy and damp for much of Wales, northern England and western Scotland, as well as Northern Ireland, and staying this way for much of the afternoon. Some thundery, heavier periods of rain returning to the far south of Ireland and southwest Wales. Much of southeast England should stay dry, and it is likely to become hot again over much of the Midlands and southern England. Mainly dry for eastern Scotland with some sunshine here. Temperatures at 28C in the southeast, 19C in Northern Ireland and western Scotland.

Thursday
An unsettled day looks likely on Thursday. Two areas of thundery rain affecting the country. The first will extend through eastern England and eventually run through eastern Scotland. The second area will be over Wales, western England, western Scotland Ireland. This is going to be drifting slowly eastwards as the heat of the day triggers off further thunderstorms through southern England, the Midlands and Wales. There is the potential for some torrential rain, although details of where are hard to forecast at the present time. A hot and muggy day at 22 to 27C.
