Thursday
Quite a muggy and damp start to Thursday morning over many parts of the country. There will be periods of rain around, especially over southwest Scotland and northwest England. Further outbreaks of light rain in the Midlands and northern England, with murky and drizzle weather over the southwest. More eastern areas should be dry with sunny spells and will be feeling hot. As the morning progresses showers are going to be developing and some of these will become heavy fairly quickly. For the afternoon heavy, thundery showers will become widespread over most of the country. There will be two main areas of rain. The first will be through Wales, western England, and southwest and western Scotland, the second over more central and eastern parts of England. The rainfall could be torrential in places with totals in excess of 30m possible. High temperatures at 20C in western Scotland, but as high as 30C in southeast England.
Thursday Night
Yet more heavy rain sweeps through Ireland, western Wales, northern England and into the west of Scotland tonight bringing the risk of further localised flooding to some places. The showers fading from other parts of England and Wales, although it is going to be staying cloudy. Still a few drizzle or outbreaks of light rain with temperatures falling to around 14C for many places.
Friday
A fair start to the day with some good spells of sunshine through England, Wales and Ireland. Into the afternoon some showers will be developing here, and a few of them could be heavy at times. For central and northern parts of Scotland it will be starting off wet with more rain. However, brighter and drier weather will be spreading to the south and then much of Northern Ireland and Scotland should be dry with spells of sunshine and just an occasional shower. Temperatures at 25C over southeast England, 19C in western Scotland.
Saturday
An area of rain spreads eastwards through the Channel bringing rain to southern coasts of England, some of it heavy at times, then clearing away to the east. Over central and southwestern Scotland there will be another area of showers and rain, some of this turning heavy. Elsewhere there will be a mix of sunny spells and showers, the showers turning heavy here and there. Fewest of the showers over eastern parts of the country. Temperatures at 17 to 22C.
