Friday
Heavy periods of rain affecting northern parts of Scotland this morning. There is the threat of some flooding through central and northern parts of Scotland, with the rain only slowly edging north. To the south it should be a brighter start to the day. There will be some sunny spells around, and it is going to be feeling fresher too. The best of the sunshine through more central and eastern areas. To the west some showers are going to be forming, although these should be fairly well scattered. Into the afternoon the heaviest of the rain is still over northern Scotland, with some heavy showers running through southern Scotland, Northern Ireland and northwest England. For most of England and Wales it stays brighter with sunny spells and just a few showers here and there. Highs at 19C in Scotland, 23C over central England.

Through the evening showers may merge to more persistent rain for a time over Northern Ireland, southwest Scotland and northwest England. However, elsewhere the showers should be fading away with clearer skies developing and most places becoming dry. Cloud and some patchy rain may spread into southern Scotland later, but most of this is only expected to be light. Lows near 9 to 12C by Saturday morning.
Saturday
Saturday morning sees some bright or sunny spells, the best of these through more eastern parts of the country. It won't take long for some showers to develop, although these are going to be light and fairly well scattered. Some thicker cloud may affect more southern coasts of England with rain through the Channel Islands. Into the afternoon there could be some more persistent rain reaching southern Ireland and southern parts of England. Sunny spells and scattered showers to the north, a few of them heavy in western Scotland. Tops near 18 to 23C.
Sunday
Indications for Sunday are that low pressure spreads into northern England. Cloud and rain sweeps eastwards through much of Wales and England with some of the rain heavy at times. Showers over northern Scotland, but some sunny spells here too, and further showers across the west of Ireland. It may become windy on southern coasts too. High temperatures at 18 to 22C.
