Tuesday
A heavy area of rain is going to be moving slowly northwards through the country today. That rain is going to be heavy across Northern Ireland, southern Scotland and northern England this morning, with further heavy spells of rain affecting East Anglia and southeast England at first. Brighter, windy weather to come through Wales and southern England as well as the rest of Ireland. However, there will be showers developing too and a few of these could be heavy. Drier for the far northeast of Scotland at first too. For this afternoon the heavy rain becomes very slow moving through southern Scotland and Northern Ireland bringing a risk of further flooding here. Sunshine and heavy showers over England and Wales as well as Ireland with a risk of thunderstorms in places. Generally staying dry in the far north of Scotland. Highs at 21C in southern England, 16C in northern Scotland.
Tuesday Night
Heavy rain continues to fall over central and southern Scotland as well as Northern Ireland tonight bringing a further risk of flooding in places. The showers over the rest of Wales, England and Ireland should become more scattered, perhaps continuing on the coasts, but inland some places may become dry. Northern parts of Scotland will have an odd shower but it should be dry here overall. A windy night over most of the country with a risk of gales to the south. Lows at 10 to 14C.
Wednesday
Still the rain continues to fall over southern Scotland, Northern Ireland and the far north of England. This rain is going to be heavy and could bring further flooding to these areas and is a situation which needs to be watched very closely. Over the rest of England, Wales and Ireland it will be a brighter day, but windy for all with gales in the west. There will be showers, most of them scattered but a few of them heavy. Over the far north of Scotland it will be drier, although even here there is the risk of a patchy shower. Temperatures at 13C in the rain over southern England, 19C in the far south of England.
Thursday
Although not as widespread there is still the risk of some rain over the far south of Scotland and Northern Ireland. For the rest of England, Wales and southern Ireland it will be a bright day with lighter winds. There will be some showers, a few of them heavy and most focused through southern parts of the Midlands and East Anglia. Across central Scotland there will be heavy showers whilst the far north should be generally dry with sunny spells. Temperatures at 15 to 19C.
