Sunny spells, showers north A wet and windy weekend seiten=4 abk=focus
Friday
Quite a chilly start to the morning for much of Britain with some mist patches across central and southern England and Wales soon clearing to sunny spells. Fine too across southern Scotland and northern England but a few showers will develop here later. More persistent rain will affect northern Scotland with showers across Northern Ireland. In the afternoon heavy showers are forecast for Scotland with a few light ones for northern England and North Wales. Central and southern parts for England along with Wales look fine and dry with good sunny spells. We're expecting top temperatures of 16 to 21C north to south.
Friday Night
During the course of the evening we'll find outbreaks of rain pushing into south west England, western Wales and Northern Ireland with showers across northern Scotland. Elsewhere it's a fine, dry evening to come with some early sunshine for most. Overnight persistent rain is expected for western parts of Scotland, Northern Ireland, all of Wales and the West Country while central and eastern areas remain dry with clear spells. Becoming quite breezy in the west as well. Not as chilly tonight with lows around 9 to 13C.
Saturday
Eastern parts of England along with The Midlands should be dry this morning but rather cloudy. Elsewhere across the country it's overcast, wet and breezy with rain, this heavy in the north west and across Wales. In the afternoon East Anglia, the far south east of England and Cornwall look dry but for the bulk of Britain rain is expected, this heaviest across northern England and Scotland. More ain to come for most places this evening and this becomes light and patchy overnight. Highs of 15 to 21C.
Sunday
Mostly cloudy this morning with a few showers across central and eastern parts of England, some sunshine in the west for a time. In the afternoon another area of rain is expected to spill in across Wales, south west England, northern England and Northern Ireland and this turns heavy with gales developing across Wales and the south west. Scotland and eastern England will stay dry with a few sunny spells. This leads to a wet and windy evening and night with gusty winds and pulses of heavy rain in many areas. Highs of 16 to 21C.
