Dry for most places Drizzle in the west seiten=4 abk=focus

Tuesday
A dull but mild start to the day over most of the country. There will be some drizzle affecting western coasts on England, Wales and Ireland. More persistent rain over Northern Ireland and southwest Scotland will be drifting slowly southwards through the morning. At the same time cloud will break over inland areas of England, Wales and Ireland with sunny spells developing as fresher, brighter weather moves into northwest Scotland. Into this afternoon heavier periods of rain edge across Northern Ireland, central and southern Scotland, with only the far north staying dry. Still some mist patches and outbreaks of drizzle over western coasts of Wales, with the risk of wetter weather arriving through the Lake District. Elsewhere it should be dry with sunny spells, the best of the sunshine in southern and southeastern England where temperatures will reach 24C in the sunshine, nearer 16C in northwest Scotland. Breezy in the north too.

Tuesday Night
Some heavy periods of rain across the central belt of Scotland this evening and at first tonight, although this tending to push away to the east during the early hours. There is always the threat of some drizzle for central and western Ireland as well as southwest Scotland. This drizzle perhaps affecting western Wales and northwest England too. For all other areas there will be variable cloud, but long clear spells over central and southeastern England. The far northwest of Scotland may be dry too with more clear spells here. Lows around 12 to 16C so feeling very mild and staying breezy in the north.

Wednesday
Plenty of cloud around again to start the morning for much of the country. Drizzly spots of rain over western facing coasts and hills, with some low cloud drifting onto the hills here too. Through the morning it should be turning brighter though with some spells of sunshine coming through, the best of them to the east and south. The afternoon sees lots of dry weather too with more sunny spells, the best of them to the east and south of England. However, still some drizzle around western Scotland but for most other western coastal areas it should be a brighter day. Very warm in that sunshine at 24C i the southeast, nearer 17C in any drizzle for western Scotland.

Thursday
The threat of some more persistent rain in western Scotland overnight into Thursday. For the day itself the west of Scotland may again be troubled by low cloud and some drizzle or patchy rain throughout. Higher pressure is building to the south of England and this is going to be giving a fine day for much of England and Wales, as well as parts of southern Ireland. Always more in the way of cloud through Scotland. Becoming very warm in the sunshine over central and southern England at 25 or even 26C,m but cooler in Scotland at 16C in that cloud and drizzle.
