Saturday
A cloudy morning across the north of Scotland with some sleety rain and hills. In the afternoon most of this dies out but remaining fairly cloud. The rest of the United Kingdom starts the day very cold with a widespread and hard frost. Patches of locally dense freezing fog across parts of Wales and England will take some time to clear. Otherwise it's dry with unbroken amounts of sunshine. In the afternoon it stays dry for much of Britain. We may see more in the way of cloud coming in across eastern parts of Scotland and eastern England with the best of the sunshine further west. A cold afternoon with maximum temperatures of just 0 to 3C.

Saturday Night
Most parts will be dry and mostly clear with a frost soon forming as temperatures start to tumble. Perhaps more cloud lingers across eastern Scotland and the north east of England. Overnight it's very cold with a widespread and locally severe frost with some locally dense patches of freezing fog developing across central, north east and southern England. Lows of -1 to -8C.

Sunday
A cloudier day to come across much of the United Kingdom with a few wintry showers over northern Scotland this morning. In the afternoon outbreaks of rain, preceded by snow will push in across Northern Ireland and western Scotland. A heavy frost this morning for England and Wales with slow clearance of dense freezing fog patches. Some sunshine will develop more towards south east England. A few snow showers may affect eastern parts of England tonight. Cloudier in the west with a risk of some rain, sleet and snow though confidence in the detail is low on this at the minute. Highs of 0 to 4C.

Monday
It is to remain cold and dry across all parts of Britain today. Outbreaks of rain are expected across Northern Ireland through the day with a risk of some snow across western Scotland and snow showers for Wales in the morning. Elsewhere it's a dry, cold and wintry day with patches of freezing fog and sunny spells. Outbreaks of rain with hills snow is likely across Northern Ireland and Scotland. England will be dry and bitterly cold under clear skies which will produce a severe frost and locally dense patches of freezing fog. Highs of 0 to 4C.
