A cold morning across Britain with a frost in most places. Quite a dull morning too for England and Wales with some locally dense fog patches. A few sunny spells will develop across south west England and Wales. Windier across northern Scotland and here it will cloud over to bring a few spots of rain in the afternoon. Across England, Wales, Northern Ireland and southern Scotland it looks fair, dry and bright with more in the way of sunshine likely. Expect maximum temperatures of 2 to 5C.

Friday Night
A cloudy, windy evening and night for much of Scotland and Northern Ireland with patchy rain across western Scotland. Fair and dry across England and Wales with frost developing during the evening across eastern Scotland. Overnight most places will be dry with freeing fog patches and a frost and this will be widespread and locally severe in the south. Expect lows of 2 to 3C in the north and -2 to -6C in the south.

Saturday
A windy day across Northern Ireland and Scotland with outbreaks of rain, this heavier in the afternoon. Winds will be gusting to gale force here. Across England and Wales it will be staying dry today with dense freeing patches of frost gradually clearing this morning. Sunnier outside of the foggy areas. It remains dry in the afternoon with more cloud and some bright or sunny spells across the Midlands and eastern England. Highs of 2 to 8C east to west.

Sunday
A dry day to come for East Anglia, The Midlands and southern England but rather cloudy and breezy. For the rest of Britain it's a windy and mild day with outbreaks of rain, this heavier in then north and west. The rain lingers in the north and west into the evening and night. A milder day for all areas with highs of 7 to 11C.
