Saturday
After a dull, wet start, the rain should clear from central and eastern parts of England and Scotland as it brightens up. Eastern areas then look dry with some afternoon sunshine. In the west heavy rain with snow in northern Scotland spreads in with severe gales across Northern Ireland. By the end of the afternoon severe gales will affect western Scotland with gales across Wales and western England. Expect maximum temperatures of 4 to 9C for most places.

Saturday Night
This looks like the worst of the wind this evening with severe gales across Scotland, Northern Ireland, north west England and Wales. Gusts of 70-80 mph are possible with gusts to 90 mph for western Scotland which may cause some damage. Heavy spells of rain will affect much of Britain with a risk of turning to snow across Northern Ireland and northern Scotland. Overnight as the rain clears Scotland, northern England and Wales and it turns colder, there is a risk of heavy snow showers. Still very wet across southern England with heavy rain clearing before morning. Severe gales now across northern Scotland will moderate overnight with gales now across eastern England. Expect lows of 1 to 7C north to south.

Sunday
A windy and colder day to come with wintry showers across Scotland and Wales and rain showers across south west England and Northern Ireland. Dry and sunnier in the east. Little change is expected during the afternoon though the showers will be heavier in the west. Snow and snow showers are expected across Northern Ireland, Scotland and northern England with some heavy accumulations likely. Heavy rain spreads into much of England and Wales and may be preceded by snow across Wales for a time tonight. Expect highs of 3 to 8C.

Monday
Windy with a risk of heavy snow this morning across Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales and northern England and heavy rain for southern England. Rain lingers across the south west of England this afternoon with snow showers likely across western parts of Britain. Central and eastern areas will be dry and sunnier. There is a risk of heavy snow across England and Wales overnight. Expect highs of 1 to 6C north to south.
