Very windy with gales in the south moderating this morning. Outbreaks of rain across East Anglia and the south east will clears with snow and snow showers across Wales, northern England, Scotland and Northern Ireland some of which may heavy giving a significant accumulation in places. Central and eastern parts of England will be dry for the afternoon with sunny spells. Showers will affect the north and west and many pf these will be of snow. Further heavy snow will affect Scotland. Expect maximum temperatures of 1 to 7C north to south.
Monday Night
Further snow showers are expected across Scotland and western parts of England this evening and during the night. Central and eastern areas look mainly dry with clear spells and some icy patches are likely to develop during the night. Still rather breezy with any frost reserved for sheltered locations. Expect lows of -2 to 3C.
Tuesday
Breezy but dry and sunny away from western coasts where there will be showers, these of snow from Wales into Scotland. In the afternoon the snow showers become more frequent, prolonged and heavy across Scotland and Northern Ireland with some heavy accumulations possible. A few heavy wintry showers as well for Wales and northern England while it remains dry across the Midlands and south east England. Wintry showers persist in the north and west tonight. Dry and clear elsewhere with patches of ice on untreated roads and pavements tonight with a sharp frost. Expect highs of 2 to 7C north to south.
Wednesday
Mainly dry and sunny for much of the United Kingdom this morning, just a few snow shower in the north west of Scotland. In the afternoon outbreaks of heavy rain spills in across Northern Ireland with some light rain reaching western parts of Wales and south west England later in the afternoon. Gales develop in the west this evening and persist overnight as the heavy rain sweeps into all parts and this will be preceded by heavy snow across Scotland. Expect highs of 2 to 7C north to south.
