Rain clears east Cool, few showers in west seiten=4 abk=focus
Friday
Morning rain affects much of eastern England, together with gale force winds. This should be slowly clearing to the east although much of the Midlands, east Anglia and southeast England will see rainfall at some time in the morning. Brighter, drier weather is going to be following from the west with all places cool, and with plenty of dry weather around. A few showers may affect western coasts and hills into the afternoon, but generally it is dry. The exception will be central Scotland where a band of heavier showers may move in, these affecting western coasts too, and may turn to snow over high ground. Highs at 3 to 6C for many of us.
Friday Night
Overnight the weather should be staying generally dry through England and Wales. There will be some clear spells through central and northern areas, but cloud will affect the south at times. There is a chance of a few showers on the west coast of Wales and through southwest England too. Further showers affect western and northern parts of Scotland, although these too should be scattered. A frost inland with lows of 0 to 2C for most of us.
Saturday
Saturday is going to be fair, but cold day for many of us. There will be a morning frost but generally it should be a fine day as a ridge of high pressure builds from the west. A few showers could trouble western coasts of Wales, southwest England and the west of Scotland together with western Ireland. More eastern areas should be drier though with some sunny spells. In the afternoon the winds increase and cloud thickens over southwest Ireland as rain spreads from the west. Highs at 3 to 6C.
Sunday
A spells of wet and windy weather overnight as rain sweeps northwards and east. This may well turn to snow for a while across Northern Ireland and northern England bringing the threat of a covering of snow here by morning. Rain should clear southern England and Wales in the morning to be followed by drier weather, but more rain returns to southern Ireland and Wales in the afternoon. By this time snow could become persistent over central parts of Ireland for a few hours and significant falls are likely over central Scotland. Highs at 1C in southern and central Scotland, 7C in the far south of England.
