Cold and windy Rain in the west seiten=4 abk=focus

Friday
A cloudy and damp start to the day over Wales, southwest and northwest England as well as much of Scotland and the east of Ireland. Some heavy bursts of rain are likely over eastern Ireland and the far west of Wales as well as the Isle of Man. Combined with the strong occasionally gale force southeast wind it really is going to be a miserable start to the day. And the bad news is that very little changes into the afternoon; it remains cloud, wet and windy with the rain heavy at times. Elsewhere across England and eastern Wales as well as the far east of Scotland it will be a windy but dry start to the day. Lots of cloud around and feeling cold. A few bright spells may break through over southeast England and East Anglia though. Temperatures rising to a cold 4 to 7C, but nearer 10C in Ireland.

Friday Night
A breezy and cold night to come over most of England. It will be largely cloudy and should be staying generally dry. Thicker cloud and rain across Scotland with some spots of lighter rain through northwest England. There will be a few spots of rain over Wales and southwest England with Ireland being cloudy and wet. The rain may turn to snow over the high ground of Scotland as the night progresses. A risk of gales in the far west. Temperatures at 2 to 5C.

Saturday
A cold and windy start to Saturday. The strong southeast wind will be touching gale force at times over exposed areas. Another wet day across Ireland with the risk of some localised flooding here. Rain should slowly clear from western Scotland in the afternoon. Most other parts of England, Wales and Scotland will be dry and cold with a fair amount of cloud and the strong southeast wind continuing to blow. Temperatures at 4 to 7C.

Sunday
Cloud and outbreaks of rain across the far west of Ireland on Sunday morning, but this clearing westwards quickly. Much drier weather then arrives through all areas, with some good spells of sunshine for much of the day, the best of it across western Wales and southwest England. Thicker cloud and some snow flurries may move into eastern Englanda and Scotland in the later part of the afternoon. The southern half of the country will be windy and this strong east to northeast wind will make it feel bitterly cold. Highs at 1 to 3C.
