Cold, windy & cloudy Snow flurries later seiten=4 abk=focus

Saturday
A cold and breezy day on Saturday with the wind strong across most of the country. It will be feeling bitterly cold over much of the country. England, Scotland and much of Wales will be dry with plenty of cloud but also a few breaks in the cloud allowing an odd bright or sunny spell to come through. Thicker cloud and outbreaks of rain affect the far southwest of England, Ireland and the far west of Scotland. Some of the rain could be heavy at times here. Little change through the day with temperatures rising to between 4 and 5C for most of us, nearer 7C across Ireland and western Wales.

Saturday Night
Cloud and periods of rain affecting Ireland through the night, some of it heavy once again. Clearer skies will be spreading to eastern parts of the country, this then spreading westwards through the night. The clearer skies probably over all but the far southwest of England by the end of the night. Those clearer skies also reaching eastern Scotland. A breezy night with strong southeasterly winds, increasing to gale force in the southwest later in the night. Lows near -1C.

Sunday
Cloud and outbreaks of rain over the far west of Ireland early on Sunday, this slowly clearing westwards. A cold day with plenty of sunshine across most of the country through the morning. In the afternoon the cloud is going to be thickening on eastern coasts of Scotland and England, this blowing some snow flurries westwards as the afternoon wears on, possibly giving a dusting of snow over East Anglia, northeast England and eastern Scotland. Highs at 1 to 3C in a strong easterly wind, this touching gale force in the far south.

Monday
Windy and bitterly cold through Monday. A strong east to northeast wind will be blowing through all areas, these winds to gale force at times, although decreasing later. There will be some snow flurries at times. The snow flurries could become more persistent later in the afternoon, and that snow may become heavier at times in the east. Over Ireland there could be a few more snow showers, but also some sunny spells in the far west. Highs at 0 to 2C.
