Snow spreading west Significant wind chill seiten=4 abk=focus
Sunday
A bitterly cold and wintry day with a raw east wind producing a significant wind chill. Much of the United Kingdom will be dry with unbroken amounts of sunshine in the morning. But later cloud increases in the east with a few snow flurries or light snow reaching eastern parts of England. During the afternoon cloud and outbreaks of light snow then spread in across all of northern England into the East Midlands and all of eastern England and eastern Scotland. A dry day with the best of the sunshine across Wales, south west England and Northern Ireland along with the far west of Scotland. Expect maximum temperatures of 1 to 5C but feeling raw in that winds.
Saturday Night
It remains very windy across the country this evening and tonight. Outbreaks of snow will push into most of England and Scotland, much of it light. Continued dry across Wales and Northern Ireland. Overnight it stays dry across Northern Ireland and south west England but elsewhere it's cloudy with outbreaks of snow. This may turn heavier and more persistent across north east England with some accumulation by morning. Expect lows of 0 to -3C.
Monday
Another windy and bitterly cold day to come across all of the United Kingdom with outbreaks of snow. Again this looks heaviest this morning across the north east of England. During the afternoon we think a spell of heavier snow pushes into the Midlands, parts of Wales, Scotland and western England with sleet and rain coming into eastern parts of England. Further outbreaks of rain, sleet and snow to come for many areas this evening and tonight with some widespread ice possible by morning. Expect highs of 0 to 4C.
Tuesday
Today it's windy across Scotland with all areas remaining very cold. Perhaps a dry, bright morning across the Midlands and eastern England. Snow is expected across the rest of Britain and this may be heavy across south west England. Little change then into the afternoon with a dry afternoon with some bright sunshine for the Midlands, East Anglia and the south east of England. Elsewhere there remains the risk of snow and snow showers. A hard frost and occasional snow showers are likely in many areas overnight. Expect highs of 0 to 4C.
