Windy & mild, rain in north Dry in the south seiten=4 abk=focus
Wednesday
A north-south split through the country today. A windy morning across northern areas with rain spilling through Northern Ireland and into northwest England and western Scotland. This will be heavy at times through these more western areas, and then will be spilling eastwards into much of eastern Scotland and the far northeast of England this afternoon. To the south the day is going to be starting largely dry, cloudy and windy too. There will be some spots of drizzle over western facing hills, especially through Wales and southwest England. However, through the morning some bright spells will be developing across the Midlands and eastern England. These will become more prevalent in the afternoon with many places becoming fair. Always most of the cloud in the west. Highs at 20C in the sunshine over central England, nearer 13C in the rain over western Scotland.
Wednesday Night
Through tonight the more persistent rain eventually clears from Scotland with some drier, clearer weather following through Scotland and Ireland. It will be staying windy though. By the end of the nigh showers will be affecting western Scottish coasts, and Northern Ireland, a few of them heavy with the winds to gale force. A narrowing band of rain slips through northwest England and west Wales during the first part of the night, this into northeast England, the Midlands and southwest England as a much weakened feature by morning. Lows at 5C under clearer skies in Scotland, 10C in southern England.
Thursday
A few spots of rain through the Midlands, East Anglia and southern England this morning, but these will be fading away and then all places should be dry with sunny spells developing. The best of the sunshine across Wales, the Midlands, southwest England and northern England. A windy day over northern and western areas with some heavy showers affecting western coasts and Scotland and Ireland. These showers merging to longer spells of rain by evening. Highs at 19C in the Midlands, 11C in western Scotland.
Friday
A further band of rain passes south through the country overnight into Friday, and it may be that this lingers over southeastern England for a time on Friday morning, although not producing large quantities of rain. Elsewhere there will be sunny spells but heavy showers are going to be falling in the west. The heaviest of these showers across western parts of Scotland and Ireland. Winds to gale force here once again.
