Windy but dry Rain spreads north Tuesday seiten=4 abk=focus

Monday
An increasing wind across much of England, Wales and Scotland. The winds gusting to gale force at times. All parts are going to be dry through the morning with lots of sunshine to come. Winds will be lighter across Scotland and here there will be more sunshine. Into the afternoon cloud is going to be increasing along southern coasts and these may well give some rain into the southwest of England by the evening. Elsewhere the weather is going to be staying windy but dry with plenty of sunshine. Highs near 12C in central Scotland, 17C in southern England.

Monday Night
Overnight it is going to be staying windy across England, Wales and Ireland. There will be some cloud through Wales, the south of England and southern Ireland. Outbreaks of showers rain moving onto the coasts of southern England, some of this possibly heavy over the far southwest. Elsewhere it should be dry with clear skies. Much lighter wind in northern Scotland. Lows near a cold 0C in central Scotland bringing a slight frost here, no lower than 9C in southern England.

Tuesday
Rain is expected to encroach slowly northwards through England and Wales today. There could be some moderate bursts of rain at times through the Midlands and eastern parts of Wales, but lighter rain elsewhere. Less rain over western parts of Wales and southwest England, and windy here as well. Dry for northern England and Scotland as well as Northern Ireland and it is here where we will find the best of the sunshine through the day. Highs at 18C in sunshine in the northwest, nearer 12C in the rain in the south.

Wednesday
The cloud and rain edges northwards through the Midlands and into northern England today, some moderate bursts again here and there. The highest risk of these through the Midlands and over southeastern parts of the Pennines. Drier through the far south of England and Wales. Cloud and some outbreaks of rain over Ireland, most of it light. Dry for Scotland with some sunny spells again, these probably over the northeast. Highs at 17C in any sunshine, otherwise 14 or 15C.
