Still a cold, strong easterly wind will be blowing today but not as windy in the south west and south or across Wales. Fair and dry across Scotland and the north east of England today. For the rest of England and Wales it looks to be a cloudy, damp day with outbreaks of rain. Some heavy bursts are likely cross Wales and the Midlands while it turns drier in the afternoon across the south west. A dry morning for Northern Ireland before rain spreads in during the afternoon. Expect highs of 11 to 16C but cool in that wind. 6C.
Wednesday Night
It tends to dry up across the south of England for this evening and tonight but staying cloudy and rather misty. An area of rain will linger across Northern Ireland, northern England and North Wales, perhaps across the north Midlands as well. It will turn lighter but still some heavy bursts are possible in places. A milder night with lows of 5 to 10C.
Thursday
Cooler today but not as windy. The northern half of Scotland looks to be the place to go with a dry day here with the best of the sunshine. For the bulk of the United Kingdom it's an overcast and wet day with spells of rain, heavy in the north and west. In the afternoon it may brighten up across south west England but a number of heavy, possibly thundery showers are likely. Heavy spells of rain are expected across northern England, North Wales and the far northern parts of The Midlands this evening and tonight. Mainly dry across Scotland and Northern Ireland with it dry in the south of England but with a lot of mist and murk. Maximums of 10 to 14C.
Friday
Continued quite chilly with heavy rain this morning across northern England and Wales spreading up into Scotland. A number of heavy showers then develop across much of England and Wales with a risk of a rumble of thunder. Largely dry albeit cloudy for Northern Ireland. The rain persists bi-but become slighter across Scotland tonight and we may see another area of rain spilling in across the West Country before morning. Look for highs of 9 to 14C.
