Unsettled days ahead Warmer by Wednesday seiten=4 abk=focus
Monday
Plenty of cloud around the country to start the new week. Low pressure is dominating and is bringing plenty of showers and rain. Most of the rain this morning will be through central and eastern parts of Scotland. This is slowly going to be clearing to the north. Some hefty showers for western parts of Wales, southwest England, northwest England and Ireland, these driven on by the strong to gale force southwest wind. A few showers in the wind elsewhere over England. For this afternoon it will be wind over England, Wales and Ireland. There will be a few showers here and there, some heavy over Ireland but generally less showers than the past few days. A fair amount of cloud but this tending to break. Still some heavy showers or even longer spells of rain over central and northeastern Scotland but drier in the west. Highs near 14 to 16C and feeling cool.
Monday Night
Most of the showers clear from England and Wales this evening, although a few are likely throughout on western coasts. The winds should ease too. Some cloud and rain affecting Ireland and northwest England as well as southwest Scotland. A few showers affect southeast England after midnight and by the morning some more persistent rain may move into the southwest. Some rain too over western and southern parts of Scotland. Lows at 5 or 6C.
Tuesday
Tuesday probably sees some cloud and outbreaks of showery rain affecting much of central and western Scotland as well as the north and west of Ireland. There could be some heavy showers tracking through Wales and the north and west of England, these merging into longer periods of rain at times. Further to the east and south the showers should be less frequent and some places may be dry. Highs near 14 to 18C.
Wednesday
An area of rain is expected to track through Ireland and into Scotland through today. Timings are hard to place but the rain could well turn quite heavy at times. For most other places the day is likely to be brighter and drier. There could be some showers around, most of them fairly well scattered. Drier weather to the south of the country and some sunny spells here. Highs near a much warmer 22C in any sunshine over southeast England, nearer 16C in the west.
