Good morning one and all and I hope your day has started well.

A very wet 24 hours across Wales with heavy rain giving 20-30mm in the south. Rain also across western England will spread all but East Anglia and the south east through the day. Heavy showers though will affect northern Scotland. Gales will develop around western coasts. Highs of 16 to 21C.

Through the evening and night the heavy rain persists across Wales and across much of Britain. East Anglia and the south east being the exception. Here it should stay dry. Strong winds continue in the west with gusts to 50 mph around exposed coasts. Lows at 11 to 15C.
