Stormy across Scotland Damaging gusts of wind seiten=4 abk=focus
Tuesday
The winds will be the main feature today with gale to severe gales in the north and west. Gusts to 80 or even 90 mph will affect western parts of Scotland which may cause some disruption. In the west typical gusts of 50-70 mph are likely. In the morning a heavy belt of rain will extend across Scotland into northern Ireland with lighter rain across northern England and Wales. Dry for the rest if England with sunny skies in the south east developing across central and much of southern England in the afternoon as it becomes very warm and humid. The heavier rain in the afternoon does sink into northern England, Wales and south west England as it driers and brightens up to the north. Highs around 17 to 22C but up to 26C in the south east.
Tuesday Night
Still windy but the severe gales will be affecting the Northern Isles and the north of Scotland this evening before easing down tonight. An area of light rain now across north east and south west England, Wales and the Midlands this evening will weaken further and tend to die away as it moves into the south overnight. The bulk of the United Kingdom turns dry with clear spells. Expect lows of 8 to 14C but a warmer 18C in the south east.
Wednesday
. Any residual patchy, drizzly rain in the far south east of England will soon clear away but a lot of clod may linger. The far north of Scotland will se some light rain through the day. The bulk of Britain will be fine and dry with sunny spells as high pressure builds in from the west. Some lightish rain persists across north west Scotland this evening and overnight and some cloud may persist in the far south east of England. Otherwise it's a dry evening and night with clear spells. Highs around 15 to 21C.
Thursday
With the high pressure now in control it should be a dry day right across the whole of the United Kingdom. Some patchy mist across the Midlands and the south will soon clear. Lots of sunshine for most places though more cloud is going to affect western Scotland at times. It remains dry with clear spells for all parts into the evening and night. By morning some local fog patches will develop across inland areas. Highs around 16 to 22C north to south.
