A windy day across the country with severe gales over Scotland. Winds may gust in excess of 80mph here and 70mph over northern England. The winds probably easing later this afternoon. A band of cloud and outbreaks of rain slip southwards through northern England into Wales and Ireland. Some bright spells over southeast England, a few sunny intervals coming through here during the morning. Heavy showers across northern Scotland, but drier weather and sunny spells to the south. In the afternoon the band of cloud and outbreaks of rain spread south through the Midlands and Wales, although these becoming lighter and more patchy. Brighter weather follows to Northern Ireland, north Wales and northern England, with a mix of sunshine and heavy showers across Scotland. Highs at 10C in northern Scotland, 16C in southeast England.

Gales through this evening over Scotland and northeast England. These winds easing through the early hours, and then falling light over the western of the country. Cloud moves away to the south with the skies becoming largely clear, although there will be a few showers for northern and western Scotland, some affecting the north coasts of Wales. Lows at 4C in central Scotland, around 7C along southern coasts of England.
Sunday
A few showers across northern and western parts of Scotland today. There will be sunny spells between the showers, which will always be scattered. These tending to fade away as the afternoon progresses. Pressure builds over southern England and Wales and brings drier weather and broken cloud with some sunny spells here. Thicker cloud for southern Ireland and southwest England, although it should stay dry. Highs at 9C in northern Scotland, 15C in southern England.
Monday
Cloud and some outbreaks of patchy rain affecting the far southern coasts of England. The rain continues into the afternoon on southern coasts and the winds will be increasing here through the day. Mainly dry for the rest of England, Wales and Scotland as well as Ireland. There will broken cloud and some bright or sunny spells here. The cloud over Scotland may be thick enough to produce an odd shower with temperatures at 6C in northern Scotland, 16C in southern England.
