A beautiful day today A largely dry week seiten=4 abk=focus

Monday
A cold start to the day across Scotland with a slight frost inland. More cloud is expected across the far north of Scotland today with some light rain across Shetland. A fair mount of cloud too across Northern Ireland but a dry day with some brighter spells. For England and Wales along with southern Scotland it will be a fine, dry day with long spells of unbroken sunshine. Expect highs of 12 to 16C with light winds.

Monday Night
During the evening and night rain and drizzle will spread in across Northern Ireland and northern Scotland. The rain across Northern Ireland will be light and patchy. Dry with clear spells across England and Wales with some mist and fog developing across central and southern England by morning. Expect lows generally down to 5 to 9C but expect 2 to 4C across parts of Wales with a touch of frost possible.

Tuesday
Today a front will keep across Scotland and Northern Ireland and this pushes into northern England. For the rest of England and Wales high pressure dominates giving all parts a fine, dry day with good spells of sunshine and any fog clears in the morning. There is a risk of some rain across the northern half of Britain tonight and into Wales and the Midlands but to the south expect a dry evening and night with increasing cloud. High temperatures of 14 to 17C.

Wednesday
Much of Wednesday looks disappointingly cloud with patchy bits of light rain and drizzle scattered across much of Britain. Perhaps the south west will stay dry and bright and later brighter weather may move in across East Anglia and south east England. During the evening any drizzle clears west of England and Wales but will linger across Scotland and Northern Ireland. As the rain clears the south, here it turns colder with a touch of frost possible across rural parts of the Midlands. Some dense fog may also develop her by morning. Expect tops of 14 to 17C.
