Damp & cloudy north Few bright spells seiten=4 abk=focus
Wednesday
A dull start to the morning over much of the country. It is going to be misty in places, with a few early morning fog patches where the skies have been clearer overnight. Some drizzle and patchy rain affecting northern England and perhaps the south of Scotland too, with fog shrouding the hills here. Elsewhere it should be dry and there may be a few bright spells breaking through the cloud over central south and southwest England. Little change in the afternoon with plenty of cloud still around. Some spots of rain and drizzle over the Pennines and murky through much of northern England. The best of any sunshine developing in central, Scotland and southern England. Highs at 17C in any sunshine in the south, just 12C in the damper northeast of England.
Wednesday Night
A cloudy and a damp night to come again across northern England. Some drizzle develops over southern Scotland and eastern Scotland too, and there may be some drizzle over the high ground of Wales and southwest England. Generally murky here as well with mist and fog shrouding the hills. We may find some clearer skies beginning to nudge through East Anglia and southeast England later in the night, a few mist and fog patches forming here by the morning. Lows at 6C in the clearer skies, more typically 8 to 10C.
Thursday
The northeast breeze increasing through central and southeastern England and this may have the effect of breaking up cloud here, allowing some sunny spells to come through. It will be feeling cold in that wind. Cloudier skies for southern Scotland, northern England and Wales with murk and mist on the hills as well as a few outbreaks of drizzle. For western Scotland and the western half of Ireland it should be drier with some sunny spells coming through and highs of 14 to 16C.
Friday
A cloudy start to the day through much of England, Wales and Ireland. A cold front is going to be pushing south through the day through these areas bringing a few spots of rain as it goes. It will also bring an increasing in winds speed. Behind it will be following drier, brighter weather with good spells of sunshine, and this more broken cloud and sunny spells will be pushing southwestwards, reaching the far southwest by evening. Highs near 13 to 15C.
