Tuesday
Some bright spells to start the day across eastern parts of England this morning. To the west there will be thicker cloud and this is going to be giving some rain. Most of this will be through Ireland, southwest Wales and southwest England at first, then tracking eastwards through the morning. Into this afternoon the rain will be moving into the south and west of Ireland. Wet too across northwest England and the Midlands, extending into central southern England too. Windy. Drier across the far east of England, and a few sunny spells over northern Scotland. Some drier and brighter weather spreading into Ireland, southwest Wales and southwest England later too. A cold 9C over northern England, 16C as the brighter weather comes through over southwest England.
Tuesday Night
A cloudy and a damp night across much of England and Scotland. Periods of rain affect much of this area, and although becoming lighter and more patchy for a time, it will then become more persistent across England later in the night. Mist and fog forming over the higher ground here during the night. A few spots of rain over Scotland. Drier across Wales and southwest England and Ireland with a few clear spells here. Staying breezy in the northeast. Lows of 6 to 10C.
Wednesday
A wet and cold day is on the cards for much of central and eastern England. Periods of more persistent rain will be passing northwards during the day, and this could become heavy over parts of southeast England, the eastern Midlands and northeast England in the afternoon. Drier weather for the west of Scotland, Wales and southwest England and rather cloudy here. Showers will be following into Ireland, a few of them heavy in places. Highs of 12 to 15C.
Thursday
After a wet night, rain is going to be persisting in the northeast of Scotland. Drier weather follows to the rest of the country with a mix of sunny spells and broken cloud. There will be some showers affecting western coasts of England, Ireland and Wales, a few of them heavy in places. Highs of 12 to 16C.
