A wet and breezy start to the day across northern and eastern parts of the country. The rain is going to be heavy at times in Scotland and northern England. Wet too across north Wales, although this rain fading through the morning and into the afternoon. Drier weather across Wales and western parts of England, although some showers running onto the coasts. The afternoon sees the rain becoming confined to north and eastern Scotland as well as eastern England and it is wet here. Further hefty showers over southern Ireland, west and southern Wales as well as southwest England. Drier elsewhere with some bright or sunny spells coming through. Highs of 10 or 11C in the rain, nearer 16C in southwest England and Wales.
Wednesday Night
Rain is going to be persisting over northern and eastern Scotland as well as eastern England, the rain slowly clearing from England. Still some heavy showers through the night over western coasts of Wales and southwest England, although the showers will be heavier and more widespread across Ireland. Drier elsewhere with some clear periods and temperatures at 8 to 10C.
Thursday
There could still be rain affecting the eastern parts of Scotland and some of this will be heavy with the risk of flooding here. Showers across Ireland, western Wales and southwest England, some of them heavy at times. Sunny spells between the showers. Generally dry across much of the rest of the country although there will be a fair amount of cloud. Further rain in northeast Scotland this afternoon. Showers across Ireland and Wales as well as southwest England. Highs at 11C in northeast Scotland, 16C in the southwest.

Rain and showers affecting Scotland through today and these are going to be heavy at times. More cloud and outbreaks of rain into southern Ireland and southwest England. For most of the country the day is going to be fairly cloudy, although there will be some breaks allowing a few bright spells to come through. Tops at 12 to 16C.
