Thursday
An area of heavy and persistent rain affecting eastern and northern Scotland, the heaviest of it in southeast Scotland and bringing the risk of some flooding here. For the rest of the country there will be some sunny spells and broken cloud, but also some showers. The showers are most likely across Ireland, western and southern Wales as well as southern parts of England. This afternoon sees the showers heavy at times over southern parts of Wales and England, as well as Ireland, with the risk of an odd thunderstorm breaking out. heavy rain continues over the eastern half of Scotland and again there is the threat of some flooding here. Highs of 9C in southeast Scotland, 16C in southwest England.

Thursday Night
Rain should slowly ease away from the east of Scotland through this evening and overnight, although there could still be a few spots here and there. Showers affect western coasts of England and Wales, but for many areas the night is probably going to be a dry one, although with much broken cloud. Later in the night thicker cloud may spread to southern Ireland and the far southwest of England. Lows near 7 to 10C.

Friday
Cloud and periods of rain spreading into the southwest of England through today. This then edges northwards across Wales and the southern half of England, with the rain then turning heavier across Wales in the afternoon. Low cloud and fog surrounding Wales and southern parts of England. A few showers across northern England, Scotland and Northern Ireland, with the chance of more rain returning to northern Scotland. Tops at 12C in northern Scotland, 16C in southwest England.

Saturday
A wet and windy day over the southern half of the country, the winds gusting to severe gale force over exposed hills and coasts. There will be an areas of heavy rain pushing northwards through Ireland, England and Wales, this followed by blustery showers from the southwest later. Broken cloud for Scotland with sunny spells, although the risk of thicker cloud and some patchy rain in the south later. Tops of a mild 17C in southeastern England, 11C in northern Scotland.
