Dry, plenty of sunshine Rain spreads east tonight seiten=4 abk=focus

Monday
A cold start to the day over all parts of the country. There could be some fog patches at first in more sheltered areas, especially over Wales, the Midlands, northern England and Scotland. These are going to be clearing away and then the morning should be dry and bright with lots of sunshine. There is the risk of the fog lifting to low cloud for a time through the Midlands, and this possibly lasting until late in the morning. Cloud will also be increasing through Ireland in the morning, edging slowly eastwards. This afternoon stays dry for most with lots of sunshine once again. This turning more hazy in the west of the country. Rain will be edging east through Ireland, becoming steadier and perhaps turning heavy in the evening. Tops of 7 to 11C.

Monday Night
A band of cloud through Scotland, northern England, Wales and the eastern Midlands as well as the southwestern parts of England. Drier weather to the east of the country. Under clear skies here temperatures will be falling quickly. Mist and fog patches will be forming. Ireland is going to become dry with some clearer spells developing here and there. Lows of 2C in the east, nearer 5 or 6C in the rain.

Tuesday
A damp and murky day across most of England and Wales. There could be some outbreaks of drizzle and rain in places, with fog on the hills. Whilst central and southern England and Wales stay damp and cloudy into the afternoon, brighter and drier weather should edge into the north. There will be sunny spells developing across Scotland and Ireland as well as northern England and possibly north Wales. Highs at 7 to 10C.

Wednesday
Still some patchy outbreaks of rain over the far south of the country on Wednesday morning. Thicker cloud and periods of rain pushing east through Ireland and into Wales and southwest of England. Northern and eastern parts of the country are likely to be staying dry with broken cloud. Highs of 8 to 11C.
