Heavy rain clearing Gales easing seiten=4 abk=focus
Friday
A much drier day to come. But this morning we'll see heavy rain across England sweeping away to the east this morning. Very windy too across eastern England with gales but these diminish this afternoon. A number of showers will affect western and northern coasts this morning and into the afternoon but few will be left in the south west. A fine day across Northern Ireland with sunny spells. Still mild but feeling a bit fresher this afternoon with highs of 11 to 15C north to south.
Friday Night
This evening just a few well scattered showers will be found near western coasts of Scotland otherwise it's a fine, dry evening to come with mostly clear skies. Overnight we are expecting rain to spread in across south west England and the far south of Wales. Dry for the rest of Britain with clear spells. A cooler night than of late with lows of 5 to 10C.
Saturday
It becomes windy again today with gales developing in the west. These gales may develop even further through the evening and night with gusts over 80 mph possible. A thoroughly wet day for all areas with heavy spells of rain in the south west soon sweeping north and east into all areas. There remains the risk of flooding in the heavy rain across Wales and north west England and southern Scotland which clears to heavy showers for the evening and night, these mainly in the north and west. Expect highs of 9 to 14C.
Sunday
Another windy day with gales likely across many areas but will be strongest in the north and west. Outbreaks of rain will also affect much of Britain through the day, this heaviest in the south of England and Wales. Here the rain turns more showery in the afternoon. A colder day with highs of 7 to 11C. Sporadic outbreaks of rain will persist in many areas this evening and tonight but a largely dry night for the Midlands and eastern England with showers for western Scotland.
