Showers in west mainly Staying unsettled, severe gales seiten=4 abk=focus
Monday
A windy day with gales along the channel coasts lessening a bit during the day. Outbreaks of rain across the far south of England clears away during the morning. Expect a day of sunshine and showers across Northern Ireland and western parts of England, Scotland and Wales and some of these will be on the heavy side. Many central and eastern areas may escape with a dry day with sunny spells though a cloudy start across Scotland with some light patchy rain here and there. Expect highs of 9 to 15C.
Monday Night
Less windy this evening. Apart from a few widely scattered showers across western Scotland and perhaps into the Midlands, it's a largely fine, dry evening to come across the United Kingdom. During the night outbreaks of rain sweep in from the west into all but the north east of England and the northern half of Scotland. This turns heavy across Wales and the south west of England. Lows of 5 to 10C.
Tuesday
Another windy day across many areas with gales developing in many areas with a risk of severe gales across the west in the evening. A wet, grey day is expected right across the country with spells of heavy rain and drizzle. This will be quite light across the south east of England and East Anglia with a lot of mist over the hills. Continued wet and very windy this evening with gusts to 80 mph around western coasts. The rain is expected to clear from Scotland late this evening then from the rest of England and Wales by morning though it may linger across Kent. Highs of 11 to 15C.
Wednesday
It remains very windy with severe gales to return to the north later in the day and again gusts over 90 mph may affect western Scotland and the mountains. Any early, residual rain across Kent soon clears away. Lots of heavy, blustery showers will pile in across western parts of England, Scotland and Wales. The rest of Britain could see the odd shower but mostly it's dry and bright with a mix of cloud and sunshine. We expect frequent and heavy showers to persist in the west right through the evening and night. Dry elsewhere with clear spells but too much wind for a frost to develop. Look for highs of 7 to 12C.
