Wednesday
There could be some rain around very early this morning over Kent, but this is going to be clearing quickly. Much of central and eastern England will then have a dry and sunny start to the day. There will be an area of very strong winds swinging eastwards through Northern Ireland and western Scotland, reaching northern England by breakfast time. Showers will be affecting western parts of Wales, southwest England, Scotland and Northern Ireland, some of them heavy at times. Gusts could reach in excess of 70mph in the west as the strong winds arrive. The afternoon sees the showers spreading into northern England, Wales and southwest England. Heavy showers for northern and western Scotland, but drier in eastern Scotland and parts of southern Northern Ireland. Severe gales across Scotland and northern England as well as Northern Ireland with gusts in excess of 70mph. Mainly dry and breezy through the rest of England. Highs at 8 to 11C.

Wednesday Night
A windy night across the whole of the country. There will be gales in the north and west with gusts to 50 to 60mph on the coasts. Showers are going to be troubling northern and western coasts throughout, with further heavy showers affecting southern coasts on England. Drier with clearer skies inland. Temperatures dipping to around 4 to 7C.

Thursday
Another unsettled day. Quiet a cold one too and it will be windy with gales again in the north and west. There will be a mix of sunshine and showers. The showers could be heavy and prolonged over western parts of Scotland, with further showers affecting the coasts of Wales, western Ireland and western England. Most of the Midlands, central and eastern England should be dry with clearer skies. Highs will be close to 6 to 10C.

Friday
Friday brings more cool weather. There will be heavy showers, merging to more persistent spells of rain at times for northern and western Scotland. To the south the showers are going to be more scattered, although there will be some heavy ones around. Most of these affecting western coasts, although tending to fade later. For central and eastern parts of England the weather will be dry with sunny spells. Highs of 6 to 9C.
