Rain clearing Winter arriving seiten=4 abk=focus
Saturday
Windy in the south of England and south Wales this morning with outbreaks of rain across North Wales and central England. To the north and south it looks mainly dry with a few sunny spells. In the afternoon light rain now across East Anglia is going to clear as it dries and brightens up. Most of Britain looks dry in the afternoon with sunny spells and cloud though a few wintry showers are forecast for the Scottish Mountains. Feeling cold with highs of 4 to 10C north to south.
Saturday Night
It becomes windy along the south coasts during the evening and night with a risk of gales. Outbreaks of rain will affect the channel coasts and this turns heavy in the night as it moves into the far south of England. To the north it looks dry and with clearing skies it will turn quite cold with a widespread frost developing by morning. Lows of -1 to 3C but 5C in the far south.
Sunday
Windy in the south of England with a risk of gales along the south coast. We are not totally sure of the extent of the rain but it looks like an area of heavy rain in the south tracks north east into the Midlands and East Anglia, perhaps into north east England. Cold across Scotland with a risk of some wintry showers or light snow. A lot of cloud persist during the evening and night with further rain possible across East Anglia and the south east and a few wintry showers across Scotland. Across Scotland where it will be mainly clear, a hard frost will develop. Highs of just 3 to 7C.
Monday
Wet across eastern and central parts of England and as this rain slides eastward it may turn to sleet and snow before it clears by evening. Apart from a few snow showers for northern Scotland the rest of Britain should be dry and sunny but cold. With light winds and clear skies by night all parts will be dry and it becomes bitterly cold with a widespread and hard frost. Some icy patches are possible as temperatures fall below freezing quite widely. Look for highs of 3 to 6C.
