Cold, risk of snow More snow tonight seiten=4 abk=focus

Sunday
A band of rain will be heavy at times and extends through western and northern Wales and northern England. This turning to sleet over the high ground, snow in places, and with a strong gale force north to northeast wind, making much of the area feel bitterly cold. More rain could drift into southwest England, whilst for most central and eastern parts it will be a fairly dull morning with a few showers. For Scotland and much of Ireland there will be broken cloud, and the threat of some snow showers affecting northern and eastern Scotland. Sunshine will be limited everywhere. The afternoon stays cold and windy with the rain turning increasingly to snow on the hills of northern England and Wales, and down to lower levels in north and east Scotland. Cloudy and cold for much of the rest of England and Wales with some outbreaks of rain at times. Staying windy and cold, highs near just 1C in central Scotland, 7C in southeast England.

Sunday Night
Conditions are going to become more complex tonight. The rain will continue to turn to snow through northern England and Wales. It could give several centimetres over high ground, and this could start to drift in the wind. Even at lower levels there is the risk of some snow, perhaps leading to a dusting by Monday morning. This area of rain spreads eastwards and may turn to snow through the Midlands, again with a covering here by the morning. Gales on the coasts of northeast England and southeast Scotland. Heavier rain across East Anglia and southeast England is possible. Some wintry showers around the coasts of Scotland and Northern Ireland. Drier away from the coasts with more broken cloud and a frost. Lows near -3C in central Scotland, 0C in northern England and the Midlands, 4C in southeast England.

Monday
Cloud and rain over eastern England at first this morning, this especially affecting East Anglia and the southeast. The rain should clear away into the afternoon, although turning cold and windy with a risk of some sleet, even at low levels before the rain clears completely. To the west pressure is going to be building and this is going to bring clearer skies and brighter conditions. There will be some wintry showers over eastern coasts of England, the Pennines and northern parts of Wales, although these easing. Highs of just 2 to 5C and feeling very cold in the wind.

Tuesday
A widespread and severe frost on Monday night. It is then going to be a fine day across much of central and eastern England. Cloud increasing in the afternoon, making the sunshine hazy. To the west cloud is going to be increasing through the morning, with rain spreading through Ireland and the winds increasing here. For the afternoon the rain spills into western and central Scotland. More rain for western England and Wales, some of it heavy. The rain turning to snow over the hills of Wales, the Pennines and central and western Scotland. Highs near 3 to 6C.
