More heavy snow Gales in west seiten=4 abk=focus
Tuesday
A cloudy, cold day and it will be very windy, especially in the west with and gusts of 60 mph around western coasts. As rain spreads in across south west England and Wales it is expected to turn readily to snow during the afternoon. This will become heavy with 5-10cm at low levels 20-30cm possible over high ground. With the strong winds the snow will be drifting. The rest of Britain looks mainly dry though some scattered snow flurries are possible across northern England. Expect highs of 0 to 3C but up to 7C near some western coasts.
Tuesday Night
The strong winds in the west persist this evening then ease down a bit overnight. Further snow to come across Wales and will be heavy. Heavy rain is expected across Cornwall with snow for parts of Devon into Somerset, Dorset and possibly Wiltshire and Gloucestershire. Outbreaks of rain with snow on the Antrim Hills will fall across Northern Ireland. Mainly dry across the rest of Britain except for some snow flurries. Lows down to 1 to 3C for most places.
Wednesday
A cold, cloudy day and there is a risk of some snow across a large part of the United Kingdom. Much of it will be light but heavy snow is likely across parts of south east England, Wales and north west England with rain in south west England. Widespread disruption is likely across Wales. More snow to fall from the Midlands north into Scotland and Northern Ireland this evening and tonight adding to the accumulation but tends to become light overnight. Highs of -1 to 3C but 8C in the south west.
Thursday
Rain, sleet and snow across eastern parts of England and Scotland soon clears away early this morning and for much of Britain it looks mainly dry and bright with some sunshine. Later though rain spreads into western Cornwall and west Wales. The rain and milder air then pushes eastward across the country in the evening and night, still with some snow over the hills for a time. Highs of 0 to 5C but a milder 10C across Cornwall.
