Snow dying out, cold Mild in south west seiten=4 abk=focus
Wednesday
Another cloudy, cold, misty day but it will be less windy, mild too across the south west of England. Outbreaks of light to moderate snow will be across Northern Ireland, Wales, Somerset and Dorset and as this area of snow moves north east it tends to become light and patchy across the Midlands, parts of southern and northern England through the day. Just a covering here is expected with some light snow extending down towards south east England as well. Some sunshine to come for western Scotland otherwise a cloudy day with a few wintry showers over the Southern Uplands. Expect highs of 1 to 3C but up to 8C across Cornwall.
Wednesday Night
Generally we keep a lot of cloud and mist throughout much of the evening and night, still with a bit of patchy snow or snow flurries across northern Britain. Where any cloud breaks occur like across south west England and south Wales temperatures may plummet but overall should hold at a degree or two below freezing leading to icy conditions by morning.
Thursday
Some snow to come across Scotland but this will clear from the south. Some patchy light rain is expected across East and the south east of England mixed with some sleet over the downs. The rest of Britain looks generally dry with plenty of cloud though. Dry for most places in the evening and night with a frost developing and again some ice is likely on untreated surfaces. Before morning rain will be across Cornwall. Highs of 0 to 6C.
Friday
Strong south westerlies develop today as it turns milder and outbreaks of rain in the west spread into most places during the afternoon. This will be heavy across south west England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Light evening rain turns heavy again in the west during the night and it stays windy with strong gales in the west. A much milder night than we have seen for weeks with temperatures well above freezing. Highs of 2 to 5C but a milder 11C across and Northern Ireland. Temperatures rising tonight.
