Rain in the east Drier in the west seiten=4 abk=focus

Friday
It is going to be a particularly wet day for East Anglia and southeast England. Outbreaks of rain this morning will become more persistent through the day and are probably going to be lasting right through to this evening. Elsewhere it is a wet start to the day for much of England and Scotland. This rain is going to be slowly fading from the west through the morning, although it could stay rather cloudy through the Midlands, central southern and northeast England as well as eastern Scotland for much of the day. Further west is should be brighter with the sun coming through, the best of this through western parts of Wales and westermn Scotland as well as Northern Ireland. A few showers later in the day over western Ireland. Highs of 10 or 11C for much of southern England and Wales, more generally 8 or 9C in the north.

Friday Night
More outbreaks of rain across East Anglia and the far southeast through this evening, and this perhaps lasting into tuhe early hours of the morning. Further north and west it is going to be a dry night with light winds and largely clear skies. Mist and fog patches will be forming by the morning, some of these dense in more sheltered parts of Wales and southwest England, as well as through the vale of York. A few showers affecting the west of Scotland, but generally dry here with clear skies. Foggy too for much of Ireland. A frosty night under clear skies with lows of -1C, nearer 3 or 4C where the rain and cloud linger in the southeast.

Saturday
Quite a misty start to the day with some fog patches across Wales and southwest England on Saturday morning. These should be clearing away to leave some good spells of sunshine. However, the fog may linger through the Welsh borders for some time and it may only lift into low cloud. It should be a fair day for much of the country with cloud being broken and sunny spells coming through. Winds are going to be light. Later in the day cloud may try to push back into eastern Scotland bringing the threat of some patchy rain here later. Highs of a cooler 5 to 7C generally, perhaps to 9C in the far southwest.

Sunday
A cloudier start to the morning on Sunday especially in the east. There could be some spots ofm drizzle on eastern coasts, but for most it should be dry. Sunny spells will be developing through central and western England and Scotland. However, a band of rainm is going to be pushing through Ireland and this is probably going to be reaching Wales and southwest England in the afternoon. Some of that rain could be quite heavy for a time on the hills. Staying dry through most other areas, although cloud may bring some sleet to the east coasts of Scotland. Highs of a cool 4C in eastern Scotland to 8C in southwest England.
