Friday
A chilly day with an area of cloud and rain clearing away from southern parts of the country through this morning. Snow showers affecting northern and western Scotland, with a few snow showers affecting the west of Wales as well. Further inland it is going to be cold with good spells of sunshine. Through this afternoon the snow showers continue over western and eastern coasts. Inland it will be staying bright with sunny spells, and it remains cold. Highs struggling above freezing across much of Scotland, around 5C in southwest England.

Friday night
A cold night ahead with a widespread and severe frost inland. There will be snow showers continuing around western and eastern coasts, a few of these heavy, especially in western Wales. Clearer skies inland will allow temperatures to fall quickly with lows of -4C, nearer 1C on the coasts.

Saturday
A cold start to Saturday in a brisk northwest wind. Good spells of sunshine inland, and these are likely to be continuing for most of the day. Snow showers will be affecting western Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales and parts of southwest England. These may become heavy at times, especially in southwest Wales. Coasts of eastern Scotland and East Anglia will also have some heavy snow showers, these giving a covering of snow in places. A cold day with tops of 0C in part of central Scotland, 5C in the far southwest of England.

Sunday
Another cold day to come across the country, with the focus for the showers again around the western coasts. It will be western Scotland and Wales which see the biggest threat of showers today. These falling as snow and becoming prolonged at times. Heavy snow showers too for northern and central parts of Scotland. Elsewhere the day should be bright and dry with some good spells of sunshine. Highs near 0C in northern Scotland, 4C in southwest England.
