Tuesday
A cold and sunny start to the day for much of Scotland and Ireland. It is likely to be staying dry and sunny here throughout the morning and into the afternoon too. Western Wales will have a pleasant day too, as will the northwest of England; dry here with good spells of sunshine. Cloudier skies for much of eastern, central and southern England as well as eastern Wales. These cloudier skies tending to linger through the day, although some holes will appear just about anywhere allowing the sun to break through from time to time. Breezy in the far south of England and this wind making it fell cold here. Temperatures generally around 8C in the sunshine to the west, but only 5C in that cloudier and windier weather in East Anglia and the far southeast of England.
Tuesday Night
Staying cloudy across much of eastern, central and southern England through this evening and overnight. That cloud may become thick enough to produce an odd spot of drizzle over high ground, but for most it should be dry with lows around 1C. Clearer skies for western Wales, northwest England, Scotland and Ireland will bring dry conditions and another very cold night with a widespread frost, lows of -5C in Ireland and central Scotland. The exception may be the far north of Scotland where increasing cloud may prevent temperatures falling below freezing.
Wednesday
Bits of drizzle around in the cloudier skies through eastern, central and southern England this morning, as well as eastern Wales. These fading away and then it stays cloudy and chilly throughout the day. That cloud again breaking here and there in the afternoon allowing a few bright or sunny spells to come through. The best of the sunshine for western Wales, Scotland and Ireland , although cloud may affect the far north of Scotland. Highs at a chilly 6C in the cloud, nearer 9 or 10C over western Scotland and Ireland.
Thursday
A change in conditions on Thursday as the winds alter direction from a northeasterly to more of a northerly. As this happens the cloud which has been plaguing England will break up and sunny spells should develop for much of England and Wales through the afternoon. At the same time increasing cloud will be pushing south into Scotland bringing a few spots of rain here, and an increasing wind. Highs at 8 to 11C.
