Showers & rain in south Windy for Scotland seiten=4 abk=focus

Thursday
A fair start to the morning across much of northern and eastern England with some sunny spells here. Southern Scotland is also going to be dry with some sunny spells, although showers will be affecting the north of Scotland, these falling as more persistent rain at times. An area of cloud and showery rain is spreading across southern Ireland and will be across Wales and much of southwest England after breakfast time, this falling as snow on the hills. The area of showers and rain then passes into the Midlands and much of southern England this afternoon, reaching East Anglia too. Most of northern England and Ireland are dry with some sunny spells, although showers do affect northern and western Scotland as well as Northern Ireland. Staying windy through Scotland with gales in the north. Highs of 6 to 11C so not quite so cold as Wednesday.

Thursday Night
Rather cloudy through this evening and night across the south of England and south of Wales. Outbreaks of showery rain here will be fading for a time, although a band of more persistent rain returns to southern Ireland by midnight, and then moves into southwest England and west Wales by the morning. For much of northern England and Scotland it should be a dry night with clear skies and the winds falling lighter too. A sharp frost across central Scotland at -4C, but holding to 5C along southern coasts of England.

Good Friday
A windier day for most of the country, all except for northeast Scotland. A band of rain makes its way east through Wales and into northern England, western Scotland, the Midlands and southern England in the morning, with brighter, showery weather following behind. The rain then continues eastwards into eastern England in the afternoon, with all places then becoming brighter, although southern Scotland does look set to remain quite cloudy and damp through the day. Highs at 8 to 11C.

Saturday
A mixed day on Saturday. There will be cloud for much of the country and some showers too. Most of the showers will be across northern parts of England, with some rain affecting eastern Scotland for a time. As the day progresses the winds will be turning more to the northwest introducing brighter skies, but also bringing cooler weather and some scattered showers to the west. Highs will be at 8 to 10C.
