Wednesday
Broken cloud across most of England and Wales this morning, the best of the sunshine across southern and southeastern parts of England. Feeling warm here as well. A band of showery rain is going to be moving south through northern England and Wales, most of it only light, but some moderate bursts in southwest Wales. For Scotland and Ireland it is going to be a windy but brighter morning with the winds to gale force in the west. This afternoon sees little change across central and eastern Scotland, although some showers will be affecting the west where it is going to be remaining windy. The band of rain through Wales and the Midlands will be extending to northeast England and may become heavy at times. Highs near 17C in western Scotland, 26C in southeast England.

Wednesday Night
Cloud and some spots of rain across southern England and the Midlands this evening, but for most it is going to be dry. Staying that way through much of the night as well. A further area of rain affecting northwest Scotland, where it is going to be remaining windy with the winds still to gale force. Clearer skies across northern England, southern Ireland, Wales and northern England. Highs at a muggy 16C in the south, 9C in Scotland.

Thursday
Variable cloud for England and Wales, but some sunny spells coming through too. Most of these over more southern areas, and becoming very warm in the sunshine. Cloud and some drizzle may affect western Wales and northwest England from time to time. Further showers across western Scotland and Northern Ireland, with most other places remaining dry. The winds easing i the north and falling light elsewhere. Highs of 16C in northern Scotland, 27C in southeast England.

Friday
An area of more persistent and heavier rain for western Ireland, reaching western Scotland in the evening. For England, Wales and eastern Scotland the day should be largely dry. There could be a few spots of drizzle in eastern Scotland later, and perhaps one or two for west Wales, but generally it will be dry. The best of the sunshine over central and southern areas. A hot day here with tops possibly to 31C in London, nearer 18C in northern Scotland.
