Thursday
Quite a cloudy start to the day across southern parts of England and Wales with only limited amounts of sunshine, the best of it in the far southeast. More spells of sunshine to come for eastern Scotland, northeast England and Northern Ireland, with showers affecting the west of Scotland. Windy again over Scotland with gales in the northwest. The afternoon sees an area of more persistent rain move into southern parts of Ireland, reaching western Wales by early evening. For the rest of England the day is likely to be fairly cloudy, some bright or sunny spells here and there. Northern parts of England will be dry with sunny spells, and it should stay dry in eastern Scotland with sunny spells here. Showers over western parts of Scotland, staying windy although not quite as strong as in the morning. Highs of 28C in southeast England, 16C in western Scotland.

Thursday Night
An area of rain tracks through southern Ireland, then into Northern Ireland and northwest Wales, reaching northwest England and southwestern Scotland later in the night. This rain is likely to be generally light, just a few moderate bursts here and there. Low cloud is going to be settling on the hills. For much of eastern Wales and much of central and southern England the night will be dry with variable cloud, some clear spells in the southeast. Elsewhere through Scotland it should be dry, again with some cloud but also clear spells in the east. Lows at 10 to 12C.

Friday
Cloudy and damp for much of eastern Ireland, northwest England, southern Scotland and northwest Wales this morning. This rain main become more intense for a time as it tracks northeastwards. It then fades away but will only be followed by another area of more persistent rain through the same areas on Friday evening. An odd shower could form over southeast England, but for most it will be dry and hot. Scotland sees cooler conditions with a few showers here and there away from the rain in the south. Highs of 29C in London, 15C in northern Scotland.

Saturday
Cloudy with some showery bursts of rain across much of the country this morning. The focus for it tending to be through Scotland, western England, Wales and Ireland. More eastern areas are likely to start drier, although there could be a few heavy showers forming into the afternoon. It should turn drier in more western areas as the afternoon progresses with any showers in Ireland fading away. A fresher day with tops of 27C in the far southeast, but more generally 22 to 25C over England and Wales,l 17 to 20C elsewhere.
