Showers to the south Rain in the north seiten=4 abk=focus
Wednesday
Cloud is going to be breaking across England and Wales this morning with a few sunny spells breaking through. It will not be long before showers develop, these tending to be over high ground of Wales and northern England at first. Through the afternoon the showers will become heavier, although always remaining rather well scattered. Most of them over Wales and northern England with very through over central and southern areas. An area of more persistent rain affects southern Scotland and Northern Ireland, this turning heavy at times, especially in the afternoon. More northern parts of Scotland should stay brighter through the day with broken cloud. Highs of 24C in the sunnier southeast, nearer 15C in northern Scotland.
Wednesday Night
Cloud and outbreaks of rain extend through southern Scotland and into parts of Northern Ireland overnight. The rain should fade from Northern Ireland towards morning, perhaps just drifting into northern England by then. Northern parts of Scotland should be dry with broken cloud. It is going to be dry over most of England and Wales too, although an odd shower is possible for northern Wales. Lows near 9 to 14C.
Thursday
There could still be some cloud over southeast Scotland on Thursday morning, this producing some patchy rain. This should slowly fade away though with some bright spells into the afternoon. A drier day for northern and western Scotland with sunny spells here. For England and Wales there will be some showers forming and these could be heavy at times, especially over southern parts of England. Highs near 19 to 23C.
Friday
Friday sees an area of showers or outbreaks of rain across southeast England and East Anglia at first. These may last well into the afternoon over the far southeast, but will eventually clear. Drier for much of the rest of the country, the best of the sunshine in western parts. Thicker cloud moves into western Ireland in the afternoon, bringing rain here by the evening. Highs at 18 to 22C.
