Cloudy and rain clearing Turning drier seiten=4 abk=focus
Wednesday
A cloudy and damp morning across much of England and Wales as an area of rain passes eastwards. The rain is going to be rather fragmented, although there could be some heavy bursts in there at times. The rain slips eastwards in the afternoon, and may take some time to clear from southeast England. For Scotland and Ireland as well as northern England there will be broken cloud in the morning and a few showers. By the afternoon drier weather in the north will spread south through Wales, and eventually into the Midlands and southern England. Highs at 16 to 21C and feeling cool everywhere in the breeze.
Wednesday Night
Any residual rain clearing quickly from the southeast, and then all parts of England and eastern Wales will be dry with some clear spells. Thicker cloud affects Scotland, Ireland and northwest England. Most of the country will be dry, although the threat of the cloud in the west producing some spots of patchy rain on western coasts of Scotland and northwest England. Lows near a cool 8C inland through England and Wales, 12C on the cloudier western coasts.
Thursday
A fair but cool start to the day over most of England and Wales. It should be dry for many and that is the way it will stay in the south of England throughout. However, elsewhere some showers will be developing, most of these scattered and tending to affect western areas. Scotland and Northern Ireland will be experiencing more cloud, and this may drift into northern coasts of Wales at times too. A higher risk of some showers here, although again most of them only light. Highs around 16 to 22C.
Friday

Further outbreaks of rain for Ireland, southwest Scotland and parts of southwest England, but always remaining lighter to the east. Highs at 16 to 20C.
