Rain reluctant to clear Drier to the north seiten=4 abk=focus

Thursday
A cloudy morning for much of the south of the country. There will be some outbreaks of rain and drizzle here, most of it only light. To the north conditions should be drier, although it will be breezy with broken cloud and some bright or sunny spells. There is the risk of some thicker cloud around southeast Scotland perhaps producing a few spots of rain at first. Into this afternoon northern parts of England, Wales and Scotland stay dry with some showers here and there. Cloudier skies and wetter weather spreading along the south coast, some of the rain heavy in places. Highs of 15 to 19C.

Thursday Night
Cloud and outbreaks of rain affecting many southern parts of England through tonight. These will be continuing on and off through the night. Further north it is going to be dry with some clear spells, although an odd shower could affect eastern parts of Scotland. A cold night under the clear skies in central Scotland at 2C, much milder in the south thanks to all the cloud at 14C.

Friday
Rain and cloud could longer across southeast England today. Most of this is only going to be light and patchy, and it will be tending to fade away into the afternoon. To the north things are brighter with some sunny spells coming through. There will be a few showers on the hills, most of them light and fairly well scattered. Highs will be reaching a cool 15 to 18C.

Saturday
A brighter day for Saturday as high pressure builds for a time. It is going to be chilly everywhere though. There will be showers for the north and west of Scotland and some of these could be heavy at times. Further south a scattering of showers could break out across northern England and Northern Ireland. These should only be light. Further south it is going to be bright with sunny spells and should be dry as well. Highs at 16 to 21C.
