A windy day across Britain, especially the north west with gusts to gale force. Areas of heavy rain are forecast for northern England and northern Scotland in the morning with some light rain for Wales. Mainly dry and brighter elsewhere. In the afternoon heavy rain is likely from West Wales into north west England, into western Scotland and Northern Ireland. Some light rain is expected across north east England and south west England while it stays mainly dry across The Midlands, East Anglia and south east England. Feeling chilly today, especially in the wind with highs of 10 to 15C.
Tuesday Night
Heavy spells of rain are expected across northern parts of England and Wales for the afternoon with gales in the west. Some light rain to come for the rest of Britain. Tonight gales with gusts to 50-55 mph will affect much of England. Heavier rain spreads into south west England with light rain for Wales and the rest of England. For Scotland and Northern Ireland there will be some showers in the west otherwise mostly clear. Lows of 8 to 13C.
Wednesday
Still very windy but during the morning the strong gales will moderate. Sunshine and showers to come across Scotland this morning and this afternoon with some light rain for England and Wales. Rather damp for the afternoon for England and Wales with rain and drizzle. Heavier rain across Northern Ireland and northern England in the evening spreads into Scotland overnight. Highs of 10 to 17C.
Thursday
A very windy day across Britain with gales again across England and Wales with gusts of 50-60mph possible. Heavy rain is expected across northern England and Scotland this morning with the south mainly dry. This rain lingers in the north but turns lighter for the afternoon. Some brighter spells develop across southern England. Rain moves into southern England tonight as it turns cold across Scotland. Highs of 10 to 17C.
