Much colder today Showers on coasts seiten=4 abk=focus
Saturday
A much colder start to the day on Saturday for all parts of the country. Rain will have cleared southern coasts and for most the morning should begin fine with some sunny spells. There Will be some showers affecting the north and west of Scotland as well as northern and western coasts of Ireland. Another area of showers becoming established over north Wales and these may filter through the West Midlands. Little change for the afternoon with showers on all but southern coasts, and a further area of showers making it into the western Midlands. For most though it will be a chilly and bright afternoon, probably dry for most fireworks celebrations this evening. Highs of 5C i northern Scotland, 12C in southern England.
Saturday Night
The showers continuing on the coasts through this evening but tending to become focussed on northeast coasts of England, Wales and southwest England. For the rest of the country it should be a dry night with some good clear spells. There will be some mist patches forming by the morning and temperatures will be down to -6C over central Scotland, 1C through most other inland areas and near 3C on the coasts.
Sunday
Some showers and a stiff north breeze affecting East Anglia and southeast England this morning. This will be fading away into the afternoon. For the rest of England and Wales the morning is going to begin very cold. A frost is going to be widespread and there may be some mist and fog patches at first too. These should be clearing away quickly though and then the day should be bright and dry, although much colder than recently. For Scotland it will be a fine start, but rain spreading into Ireland in the afternoon reaches the west of Scotland by evening. The winds will be picking up too in the west later, becoming gale force on the coasts of Ireland and Scotland by dark. Highs of 4C in northern Scotland, 8C in southern England.
Monday
A very windy day is on the cards for Monday. Gales are going to be widespread with gusts of win in excess of 60mph for many. There will be some heavy rain around, although predicting where this will be is proving tricky! At the moment most of it looks to be focused through Ireland, Wales and southern England, with Scotland escaping the worst of the rain. Highs will be at 7 to 11C and it will be feeling very cold in the wind.
