Monday
Very windy today with gales, perhaps severe gales and outbreaks of heavy rain with over an inch expected in some areas as an autumnal strong moves towards the south west. In the afternoon the strongest winds will be across eastern England with gusts of 50 mph. Later in the afternoon the rain will be replaced by some heavy showers across south west England and western Wales. More showery then too across Scotland. Expect highs of 5 to 10C.

Monday Night
It stays very windy with gales from central parts of England up into Scotland. More rain to come as well across much of Britain with some snow over the highlands of Scotland. More showers in the south west of England. Gusts to 60 mph are possible, especially over the hills. Lows of

Tuesday
Throughout Tuesday further strong gales will affect Britain with frequent showers and longer spells of rain as deep low pressure moves into France. Northern Ireland and western Scotland though should be mainly dry with sunnier spells. Still windy for the evening and night with light evening rain across southern England declaring. Overnight it looks much drier but showers will affect some western and eastern coasts. Highs of 7 to 11C.

Wednesday
Still a cold, gusty north wind blows across England today but this will lessen during the afternoon. This will brings scattered showers down across the North Sea coasts of England and Scotland today while western and central areas will be dry with good spells of sunshine. With clear skies and lighter winds there is a risk of a frost tonight but rain moves into southwest England before morning. Highs of 5 to 10C.
