Cold, rain in east Frost in places tonight seiten=4 abk=focus

Sunday
A cold day to come across the country through Sunday. The brisk northeast wind will be bringing some showery outbreaks of rain to eastern coasts of England and Scotland. For other places it is going to be a cloudy morning with a few spots of rain on hill tops. The best of the weather is likely across Scotland where the air is drier. Here there should be some sunny spells, and this sunshine perhaps extending into Ireland too. Little changes into this afternoon with all places staying cold. There will again be a few spots of rain through more eastern areas of England and Scotland, and over high ground. The highest chance of seeing some sunshine will always be to the west. Highs at 4C in northern Scotland, 7C in southern England.

Sunday Night
Staying cold through tonight and becoming increasingly windy on eastern coasts as well. There will be outbreaks of rain here, these turning more persistent as they spread inland to the far northeast of England and southeast Scotland. The rain turning to snow over the high ground of Scotland too. Elsewhere through England and Wales it will be a cold night with some spots of rain on the hills, but dry for many. The driest of the west through more western areas where the cloud continues to be broken. Lows typically around 1 or 2C but falling below freezing in Scotland and parts of Wales.

Monday
Another cold day to come on Monday as the northeast flow persists. Cloud on Monday morning brings some outbreaks of rain and showers, mostly to eastern coasts, but some also over the Scottish hills, where it will be falling as snow. More showers and some outbreaks of rain affecting eastern parts of Ireland. Elsewhere it stays cloudy and generally dry, although always with a risk of a spot of rain. Tops at 4 to 7C.

Tuesday
A brighter day seems likely for most of the country on Tuesday. Eastern coasts are still likely to suffer from showers being blown in off the North Sea, but these will not be penetrating too far inland. A few showers over eastern Ireland too. Elsewhere though the day is going to be dry with some sunshine. It is going to be feeling cold, bitterly so where exposed to the wind. Highs will be between 4 and 7C.
